The Clinton Christian Church has a scholarship fund available because of the late Lester B. Swaney. Mr. Swaney taught Vocational Agriculture and was the Clinton FFA Advisor for 39 years, starting in 1930 and retiring in 1969. He was an active member and Elder of the Church. Upon his passing, his family established a scholarship through the Church for students attending the classes at the Clinton Technical School and Clinton High School, not necessarily limited to agriculture.
2024 Recipients of the Lester B. Swaney Scholarship Announced
On behalf of the Clinton Christian Church, we are presenting three Lester B. Swaney scholarships to: Briley Wishard, Jake Wirsig and Adam Walrath.
Briley Wishard is the daughter of Brian & Angie Wishard, granddaughter of Mary Atchison and niece of Christa Atchison. She is currently a Senior at Clinton High School. She plans to attend UCM in Warrensburg in the fall where she will be a thrower on the track & field team. She will be pursuing a degree in Business Marketing.
Jake Wirsig is the son of Cindy & Blaik Wirsig, grandson of Mary Atchison and nephew of Christa Atchison. He is a sophomore at Missouri S&T in Rolla studying mechanical engineering. He will be participating in an internship at Schreiber Foods - DDN plant in Clinton this summer.
Adam Walrath is the son of Doug & Ranae Walrath and the grandson of Bill & Donna Martin. He started at Missouri Welding Institute in Nevada, MO on April 15.
Pastor Tim was able to present the scholarship to Briley Wishard this evening at the Clinton Technical School Awards Ceremony.

On behalf of the Clinton Christian Church, we are presenting three scholarships to: Gentry Wishard, Jake Wirsig and Nick Branscombe.
Gentry Wishard is the daughter of Angie & Brian Wishard, granddaughter of Mary Atchison and niece of Christa Atchison. She is currently a Social Worker at the Clinton School District and attending Missouri State University, working on her master's in social work.
Jake Wirsig is the son of Cindy & Blaik Wirsig, grandson of Mary Atchison and nephew of Christa Atchison. He is a Freshman at Missouri S&T in Rolla studying engineering.
Nick Branscombe is the son of Charles Branscombe and Amanda Colvert. He is a senior at Clinton High School. Nick will major in computer science this fall.

Jake Wirsig is the son of Cindy & Blaik Wirsig, grandson of Mary Atchison and nephew of Christa Atchison. He is a Senior at CHS and will be attending Missouri S&T in the fall for engineering.
Adam Walrath is the son of Ranae & Doug Walrath and grandson of Bill & Donna Martin. He is a Senior at CHS and will be attending SFCC in the fall.
Jake & Gentry are pictured below together because they are cousins! Fun fact: Jake & Gentry's Grandpa, Gary Atchison, was a 4-year student of Mr. Swaney at CHS from 1960-1964!
